On August 2-3, 2008, the 18th FIT Statutory Congress (SC) will be held at Shanghai Lansheng Hotel. FIT Council members and official representatives of more than 100 FIT member associations are expected to meet and discuss matters of importance to FIT, including the revision of bylaws, election of new council members, decision for the next host of the FIT World Congress, etc.

Shanghai Lansheng Hotel is a four star hotel in the city proper. The Congress organizers have negotiated a very good room rate for participants (USD75 per night per standard room + 15% service charge; the price may vary as a result of changes in the exchange rate). To save time and trouble, we recommend that all SC participants and their accompanying stay at Shanghai Lansheng Hotel for the nights of August 1~2 (FIT Council and Executive Committee members are expected to arrive one or two day earlier to attend the FIT EC Meeting on July 31, and/or the FIT Council Meeting on August 1, to be held at the same hotel.) Participants only need to indicate their arrival and departure dates on the registration form without paying any deposit for this hotel. Payment will be made to the hotel upon check in.

The Hotel is about 40 minutes’ car ride from the Open Congress venue, so participants are recommended to move to a hotel closer to the Open Congress venue (one of the 9 recommended hotels on the Congress registration form ) for the nights after August 3. Don’t worry about the change of hotels. On the evening of August 3, the Congress organizers will provide free shuttle bus to transfer all participants and their accompanying persons to their chosen hotels for the Open Congress.

The Congress organizers will provide two lunches (August 2 and 3) and one supper (August 2) to all SC participants AND their accompanying persons.
